Birthdays Cons and Steven

It's amazing how something you glanced over can take over your life in an instance.  Well, maybe not that serious, but it can commandeer a lot of your time.  I think that is the definition of being a Nerd.  How much you end of loving the weird stuff. A few years ago I used to watch a little quirky show about a boy with a gem in his button.  I never paid much attention to it until my niece developed an addiction for the show, Steven Universe.  Apparently, loved by many this show has take me by surprised and I now have a new Nerd to immerse myself in.  Below is the iHeartRadio edit of my latest 5by5 podcast.

Fall Is Here

Fall is here and it's my favorite time of year.  Locally, we kick off fall with a street fair that is 2nd in size to Mardis Gras in country.  It has been lovingly named The Fall Festival and it attracts people from all over the area for rides, games and FOOD!! This year was no exception besides the fact I probably ate too much.  My stomach was in a vast state of incredulity with the amounts of Pronto Pup Brats, Fried Klondike Bars, Peanut Butter Burgers, Fried Oreos, Muddy Pigs ect, that I put into it this week.  Listen in to this week's podcast to see what else I put my stomach through down at the fair.  Also, Fall TV is in full swing and I am not too sure I like all of it.  Lastly, a new comic book from Image Comics comes out with STDs... and it's Beuatiful !

The Fine Felon

Now you know we couldn't do a show without at least mentioning Jeremy Meeks aka The Fine Felon.  Well, that's what they are calling him. But, I will have to say he is just that.. FINE.  I am sure you all have heard about his legal troubles. And after his mugshot went public it went viral because of his model good looks.  Too bad he isn't a model citizen. Soooo, on this issue of Real Talk Darling Nikki returns and joins fellow co-host Ken Boggle to gossip a little bit about Mr. Meeks, Tattoos, The CW's Famous In 12 and some other hilarious topics.

Agent's Of Shield Review

234x60 IDL45

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L,D.
arrived with much ado and it delivered on all of the hype.  A very good pilot from Joss Whedon.  It had drama, action and suspense.. Oh did I say action.  Agent Coulson's return was answered and then turned on it's head by Maria Hill (guest appearance).  Click the show below to hear my full review.

I was surprised to see an AppleTV update this week, but it was very welcome. Included were Itunes Radio, Cloud Photos, a couple of new channels and the podcast app got a little better. And now you can buy iTunes music directly from the Music App.  Check out the full review, also,on this week's
 Fanboy Weekly podcast above.

Monday Television Recycle

Monday's Television Recycle
for week
March 18 2013 - March 24 2013

*Spoiler Alert*
I thought I would start something new on my blog.  It has been getting a little stale and not freshened up enough.  I thought I would do a television "recycle" every Monday before the new week of television began. My week starts on Monday with The Following and ends on Sunday with The Walking Dead. My schedule is crazy but, I get them all in.

As you will notice I love my supernatural themed shows. With that being said, can I ask..what in the hell is happening on Supernatural. Castiel is back (again). He is being torn between the Winchesters and the angels. He is now protecting the, recently found, angel tablet from everyone. I thought it was funny at the end when you see Castiel going to places unknown on a Greyhound bus. Seriously?!? I was happy to see Meg back, even with the blonde hair. But, I doubt if we will see her for awhile after Crowley killed her at the end of the show. Another week goes by and Sam has not had another trial to endure. But, Castiel spills the beans and tells Sam and Dean both that Sam is damaged more than even he can repair. Good luck huntee!

Another CW show I like is DC's Arrow. Although, it really doesn't have the comic book fanboy excitement of Smallville. It has the drama and the suspense, and not to mention the hunky super hero himself (Stephen Amell) *swoon*. Ooh Chile.. Green Leather.. Who Knew? I do like how they have sprinkled in some of Arrow's allies and villains. This last episode brings back The Huntress. While I will agree she is kind of the anti hero in the comic books. The CW makes her more so with a lot more darkness and anger. Gal.. What are you mad so mad about? Boyfriends come and go, even if your dad killed him. Oliver and The Huntress have that sort of Batman/ Catwoman love thing going on. But, this time Huntress goes too far and Oliver is pissed. I have been patiently waiting for Black Canary to make her appearance and come in, kick her ass and then claim Oliver as hers. The character is already there (Dinah Laurel Lance) but hasn't been transformed  into Black Canary just yet. Can we get some Black fishnets for Ms. Lance please. I will also be glad when they stop the flashbacks. When/ if they do end, I hope they keep Manu Bennett on as a regular. You know the hot gladiator, Crixus, from Spartacus. Yeah him!! *swoon* We will see how Oliver/Arrow handles Helena/Huntress this week.

I must be a CW whore because I am all over their network these days. Can I get a check?  With their recent addition of Cult, The CW has went from the supernatural and super-powered to super creepy. Cult is only a few shows into the series. And right now, I am torn.  I feel like it is the dirty cousin to The Following, which I love.  Quick synopsis, the main character Jeff (Alaric from TVD) has a brother (Nate) who goes missing because of this show "Cult" at the hands of the "True Believers" (of the show). So we watch, week after week, as Jeff discovers clues about his brother's disappearance. It's almost there. But, something is missing.  I made a comment on GetGlue (pushed to Twitter) the other day about how I hoped  The CW gives this show a chance before they cancel it. Hell they moved it to Friday nights after one week. One of the actors, from the show (Chad Rook) responded and said:
You know I gave my computer a *side eye*  Girl Stop! Nevertheless, I love Ms. Aisha Hinds as the shady detective who is some how mixed up with the True Believers. Can I ask why she plays so many police and detective roles? I guess it's work.  I am going to stay tuned for now. Because the cliff hanger at the end of last week's episode leaves us with Nate on video telling his brother to back off.  Why was he all bound up in that chair? And the video deletes itself. Oh well, I guess it can only get canceled or get better..

A few quick hits about a few other shows..

The Vampire Diaries... STAKE ELENA!!  Problem solved honestly.
Touch  If Jake was my little boy and kept running his little ass off and not listening to me he would get "touched" alright.  But, I do love this show.  But, I hear it may be getting canceled.  Maybe if they had stuck with the 1st season's formula instead of trying to make Martin Bohm into Jack Bauer.
The Following I am living for this show right now.  And Mr. Joe Carrol is an O.G.  I am loving how this show is developing.  Kevin Bacon has made an awesome transition from the big screen to the little screen.  And plus those eyes.. well you know.... I think this is what Cult wants to be, but falls a little short. I watch this show with my mouth hanging open half of the time, because of all the twist and turns. Good Stuff!!
The Walking Dead I will give a deeper look into this show after next Sunday's finale. But, I will say I CAN'T BELIEVE MERLE IS DEAD!! I was really starting to like him.  Daryl has to kill his brother the new zombie (courtesy of  The Governor)  and he is heart broken.  It was really sad to watch.  The finale looks to be explosive and I can't wait.  And last but not least can they let a zombie bite Carl's little ass.  sheesh!
Being Human I loved this show at first.  But, the whole Sally thing coming back to life (real life), and the little boy eating up his mom and dad was/is too much for me.  Aiden has gone crazy with the blood.  Josh, I mean really should be having a nervous breakdown about now. I am confused and tired trying to keep all of this mess straight.
Deception I do believe this show is being canceled, so who cares.  I did watch all of the broadcast episodes (11, yeah I know odd number).  This show's problem was predictability.  I predicted the dad did it and guess what, he did.  End of story..

And last but not least.. Why in the hell did they cancel Don't Trust The B in Apartment 23?  Kloe was my muse.  This show was so funny.  They go and cancel this show and Suburgatory gets to stay on the air.  What the hell? I will miss the funniest one liners on television coming from this show.  I mourn it's demise.  I guess I will have to rely on New Girl and The Mindy Project for all of my laughs.

Sorry, this was such a long post, but I had to get it out.  For the full audio version check out my show on blogtalkradio.com/5by5

Sexy and Funny Gay Male Commercials

I thought I would keep it a little light this week with the addition of some funny and sexy male commercials.  None of these of course will ever be shown in the U.S.A.  But, other countries seem not to be as uptight as we are these days.  Enjoy!!

The A Listers Are Back!

Enter Nyasha
Are They Together or not?
What a night, What a night, What a night.... Yesterday's premiere of The A List New York was nothing less than AWESOME!! The boys were back with delicious drama on the very 1st episode of the second season. We find out that Reichen and Rodiney have obviously broken up... They imply that it was because of Reichen's Cam4 rendezvous and subsequent viral penis pictures. But, that wasn't the most explosive drama of this episode. New Comer Nyasha makes her debut, a singer/ business owner, that definitely knows how to play both sides. I am not sure why she was cast on this show. She doesn't really add anything but a lot of misplaced drama and diva-tude. Oh and she also owns a wig company and her hair looks an absolute mess. Anyway, Ryan is as fabulous as ever and TJ is obviously over and under whelmed by the state of their friendship. Derek has lost some of his edge and obviously has gained a little weight which actually makes him look more attractive. Let's hope his tanning product line works out for him. Mike Ruiz will actually have a story line this year since he is dating now. Last, but not least my least favorite character, Austin, still shows us why he is probably the unofficial star of the show. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA... He is still trying to play the "Reichen and I are friends" card, but Ryan quickly shuts it down. This episode ends with a fight once again between Austin and Rodiney with Nyasha in the middle of it all. The previews of rest of the season look very exciting and I will be watching intently. We will see who prevails, but it looks like a long and bumpy road for our Male housewives.

When in Rome... Act Like A Gladiator!!

I am always late when it comes to popular music, clothes and television shows.  This holds true for not catching Spartacus: Blood and Sand the first time around.  I had heard about this series before and didn't pay much attention to it. But, now that Spartacus Gods of the Arena is airing, I had to catch myself up on the the premiere season so I would at least have a background.  Thanks to Netflix, I was able to see it in it's entirety this passed weekend. A story of a man determined to persevere for love, honor and respect.  I have to say I enjoyed every blood soaked, erotic, back stabbing moment of it.
The very sexy Andy Whitfield plays the hero Spartacus in true gladiator fashion.  He is a "god" among men in many aspects of this show.  It also didn't hurt that he walked around in well fitted roman undies for 95% of the series and the other 5% he was naked. I was pleasantly surprised to see Lucy Lawlwess in the role of the Domina, Lucretia. It took me 4 episodes to realize it was Xena!
This isn't one for the kids. As Starz informs you at the beginning of every show "Spartacus is a historical portrayal of ancient Roman society that contains graphic violence and adult content". Spartacus has just about everything you could want in a period piece..uncensored.  The Romans were obviously some over sexed barbarians. I did find the blatant, if not literal, homo eroticism of it all very appealing.  You actually see, during the series, several graphic sex scenes and an actual pre-existing gay relationship. In reference to the gay relationship, I wished they had developed it more.  Which they may since the new season Gods of the Arena is a prequel with some of the characters younger selves appearing.  Then there is that little thing of all the men look like pumped up male super models that walk around naked most of the time.  I will say that Starz found some of the best asses on the planet It must have been a prerequisite to get this acting job.  All in all, it was an awesome show. I am sorry to here that the lead character will not be returning for the second season because of a battle with cancer.  I hope he has a fast and full recovery.  For those of you who have not seen it, yet.  It is definitely worth renting or catching on Netflix.

Where's My Girlfriend?

Behind many gay men, you'll sometimes find a straight woman or vice versa.  In my life I have had several serious relationships with straight females. They have been my best friends, my confidants even at times my scapegoats. But, I have loved and I now miss them all. Life has a funny way of driving wedges in relationships no matter who's involved.  Why am I sharing this with you, you ask? During the Atlanta Snow Storm of 2011, I had the opportunity to catch up on some Tivo. A show that I recorded, but had not watched, seemed to fit a snowed in day of television. Girls who like boys who like boys was the title of my 8 hour TV marathon.  Shown on the Sundance channel, GWLBWLB, chronicles the life of 4 "couples" in New York City.  It just so happens that the couple consists of 1 Gay Man and 1 Straight Woman.  I found it interesting how I could relate to every couples problems and connections to each other.  Some of the interactions seemed like a few pages out of my life.  The show can be a little corny at times, but very heart felt at others.  I sat through all 8 episodes wanting my own "Girlfriend".  Maybe that's what I am missing right now in my life.  A female friend to share private thoughts and secrets with that  sometimes cannot be shared with another man. I'll let you guys know when I find her... again..

I have a crush on Billy

My latest reality TV crush is Billy The Exterminator.  If you have ever watched this show, you may know what I am talking about.  If you have not here is a quick synopsis of what it's about.  The show is based around a extermination company in Louisiana.  The "star" is one of the owner's of the company.  He and his brother go out on various calls dispatched from their very flamboyant mother.  They wrestle alligators, raccoons, snakes, roaches and all other types of vermin.  But, Billy is the stand out.  With his spiked mullet hair cut, he has a southern charm and personality that is very sexy.  Can we say snake charmer?  He has that sort of fun loving personality that any one would love to be around.  While watching I find myself getting fearful that he may get hurt.  But, he normally is able to save the day.

The Bitches Are Back

Well I guess they came back a few weeks ago.  But, since I have been neglecting my poor blog I have decided to write about it today.  THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA!! Our girls Nene, Kandi, Kim and Sheree return along with Phaedra (the attorney) and Cynthia Banks (the model).  You will notice this season that Lisa Wu Hartwell is not present, although she was in this week's episode.  At the beginning of this season you hear Sheree, say that she had not seen Lisa since she moved just north of Atlanta.  LIES! That must have been Bravo's way of not liking how Wu-Hartwell left the show.  In an interview done earlier this year, Lisa explained the reason she was not returning to the show. She said It was because she did not want her life to be scripted.  Shame on you Bravo for duping us in to thinking that all that melodrama wasn't set up.  LOL!  I for one think Lisa is the realest for not selling out to Bravo for a pay check, You Go Girl.  On the other hand, this season is already drama filled with 2 cat fights already under their collective Gucci belts.  The new additions of Ms. Parks and Miss Banks are ok until you see their interactions with the core group.   Ms. Parks is supposedly an attorney to the stars here in Atlanta.  She claims to be a true to life Southern Belle.  But, her actions and over the top musings do not seem really lady like.  She comes off phony and full of herself.  Unlike, Nene's over the top realness.  Miss Banks, on the other hand, is as sweet as she is pretty.  She almost seems out of place with this group of divas and we will have to wait and see if she can hold her own with them.  All in all this season should be a good watch.

My Tweeter of the Week

Steven Daigle
He is smart, cute, funny.  He has also made a splash on the gay porn scene.  You all might remember him from Big Brother Season 10.  I admit that I might have seen one or two episodes of Big Brother.  After seeing this guy I wish I had seen more.  Recently, I have been following him on twitter.  It seems like he has made a trek from Texas to California.  I know some of you who do not tweet probably do not care.  But, it is refreshing to live vicariously through some one's tweets to make your own life seem less boring.  Or does it do the opposite.  Nevertheless, you will find his musings pretty Amusing from the things he eats to what he is wearing as a bath towel.  Follow the jump and see what Mister Daigle is up to, you will not be disappointed or maybe you will.. Let me know!

I love Dexter

I have finally started to catch up on Dexter Season 3. I had to get back into Dexter mode.  It has been a little over a year since I watched the first two seasons. I remember I was mesmerized watching as he stayed one step in front the police. Well Season 3 has started out pretty good.  The same suspense and cat and mouse struggle from previous seasons.  But, the skin peeling is a little on the gross side.  One thing I have struggled with, in the past, about Dexter.  I am actually cheering for the guy that is a serial killer of sorts.  But, Dexter is so complex and innocent in a way that one finds him appealing.  He is also boy next door cute.  Do remember Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under? The gay son of a funeral home family.  Hmmm, why does he play all these dark rolls?  A better question is why do I like him playing dark rolls.. Odd or is it.. I guess we all have our dark thoughts, sides, moods ect...
