What's Going On?

What's going on, seems to be the question everyone in the nation is asking when it comes to the state of Indiana.  The guy above is Gov. Mike Pence and he signed into law SB101 The Religious Freedom Restoration Act that legalized discrimination against the citizens of Indiana, namely, the LGBT population.  But, after a corporate and social backlash, like no other, he pushed and signed an amendment stating that gays and lesbians could not be discriminated against.  Problem is, this only protects counties where gays and lesbians are a protected minority class.  Corporate giants like Salesforce INC and Angie's List threatened to halt growth, in the state, if this bill wasn't fixed.
Listen in to my latest podcast below to hear my views on RFRA.  Also, find out why McDonald's Coca Cola taste better than anywhere else on the planet.  I have a new addiction in the form of a MMORPG, Guild Wars 2.  And our Question of the Week is: What would you do if a customer came to your job and started a fight? Would you fight back or keep it classy and call the authorities?

Doing The Dew

I thought I had kicked my soft drink addiction.  I was doing so good.  I had been drinking a ton of water.  I fell in love with the Sparkling Ice flavored water.  It was going to be my "chantix" for soda addiction.  But, those tricky people at Mtn Dew had other plans for my pancreas.  They released a bottled version of the Taco Bell exclusive Baja Blast. I sort of knew that it was happening, but since I was content on drinking my water I didn't give it much thought.  And since I knew that I wasn't really eating at the taco chain anymore and my craving for my most favorite Mtn Dew (to date) was only sold in the restaurant.  I thought I was okay.  Until I seen it at a local convenience store and all my willpower sort of just went away.  And now I am back on The Mountain Dew Juice.... Curses!! Also, on this episode of The 5by5 podcast I share my views on giving your kids realistic names. Unlike the silly woman (who lives locally) who named her child after Walmart of all places.  #sideeye

Fun With Hashtags #FatPeopleProblems

Today's Bonus Episode:  I thought I would have some fun with Hashtags.  Everyone loves to hate them, but I doubt they are going away anytime soon.  I am a chronic hashtagger and use some more than others.
Today I searched one of my favorites. #FatPeopleProblems I use this to refer to something I use for me REPEAT for me.. And not others.. I use it because I think it's healthy to make fun of yourself.  I live in reality and part of my reality is I am a fat boy. I embrace it.
Go get you a 2 piece and a biscuit and listen in!

Do You Have An Accent?

I used to obsess about my accent. Only to find out I didn't have one. In the back of my mind I kind of figured that one out. But, I live an area where accents go from extreme hickerbilly to ghetto fabulous in the span of a 20 mile radius.  Tonight, I put my mind at ease as I took the Which American Accent Do You Have? quiz from www.youthink.com 's website.  And my curiosity was pretty much spot on.

We also chat about Robin Roberts facebook coming out and Green Bay Packer Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, allegedly being outed by his personal assistant/ boyfriend on twitter. And a whole lot more!
I hope you all have a good New Year and look for more to come from

Liar Liar Pants on Fire!

It was a
Real Talk with Day and Nikki
night on The 5by5 and it was a lot of fun. Nikki and I both reside in Indiana so we have been getting our fair share of the snow this winter and we are both over it.  It's cold, wet and icy and I could careless if we had a white Christmas or not this year. We also gave a shout out in memory of  Nelson Mandela and his legacy that he leaves the world.  I sing Happy Birthday to Nikki while she wishes Happy Birthday to Raven Symone. Finally we get to our topic of lying as we discuss the events surrounding Dayna Morales.  We then ask the question.  When is it appropriate to lie? Listen for our answers to that question and a whole lot more.

Can You Afford That?

Happy Halloween!
This week Nikki and I chat about all the racial profiling drama happening at Barneys New York.  The T is that two black patrons allegedly were stopped and detained by NYPD after buying high end merchandise at Barneys.  We both have experienced racial profiling or what we have come to call it "Shopping While Black". We also go on about the weather and the coming Halloween Holiday.  Check us out on Halloween for a special haunted episode.

Special thanks to my cousin Chris Bailey for designing our new logo.

Monday Madness: Hot Topics

The weekend is over. Mother's Day is over.  And it's back to work.  Well over at The Five by Five we Darling Nikki and I shared some of our views on some very hot HOT TOPICS.  Nikki shared some very nice words and memories about  The Young and Restless Icon, Jeanne Cooper, who passed away last week after an illness.

We also talked a little about Jason Collins and his historic coming out.  I also shared some views on coming out in the black community and my experiences.

As everyone knows, recently, the three young ladies that were missing for 10 years were finally free of their abductor. Amanda Berry, in particular, was the young lady who was able to obtain help from a neighbor.  That neighbor, Charles Ramsey, has become the famous heroic figure of this tale.  I hope these young ladies are able to move on with their life and put this horrible ordeal behind them.  What I have found interesting lately is the interview that Mr. Ramsey gave the news media.  It is hilarious. And he is very animated but he kept it 100 percent real.  The Gregory Brothers (bed intruder)  have made another autotuned classic of that interview. You can see the Dead Giveaway video below. Very funny.  Nevertheless, listen to the show, for a few more interesting topics. And some advice on how to respond to Ambecrombie CEO, Michael Jeffries, ridiculous statement about not wanting unattractive people in their brand.
