Where and What

Yep, that's me almost 3 weeks ago.  If you were wondering where I had been I was trapped in  hospital bed plotting a way to escape.  LOL! Honestly, I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic when I was rushed to the ER with blood sugars over 1000.  I know right! Yes, 1067 to be exact.  The many doctors and nurses that worked together to save my life were shocked and bemused at that number.  While I slipped in and out of consciousness the tone of every one's conversation was that they had never witnessed anyone having blood sugars this high.  I was scared.  I think sometimes Doctors give you the worst case scenario.  So, when it doesn't happen they become your hero.  But, I didn't care I was in trouble and I needed all of them to get me out of it.  My recent podcast reflects my feelings on being diagnosed with the "silent" killer.  Also, I pay homage to my mother who is also fighting a more serious health battle.  Enjoy!

Caring About The Affordable Care Act

I think the one think one thing some of the Affordable Care Act naysayers are missing is the caring part. I mean I will be damned if I whine about my health care cost when there are people out there who do not have the luxury to whine about having any health care.  On today's show that is exactly what I am talking about.
I actually care about those who do not have health care.  I think it makes a more cohesive nation and I think in the long run it will reduce cost.  But, there are some out there that think the disadvantaged deserves to be healthy.  What do you think?

When Should You Fire Your Doctor?

This is a good video about the services you receive from your Doctor and his staff.  Although, I personally have never had this problem.  But, my mother has had this problem recently as she goes through her health battle.  There are times when I feel I should step in. But, there are other times when I feel it will make a poor situation worse.  Don't get me wrong.  I would never allow anyone to give my mother health care that is not in her best interest.  I am torn.  What do you do? Have you ever had to fire your doctor? or has your doctor fired you?

Have you ever had to fire your Doctor?
