No one would have expected the heart of the Ground Breaking Smallville television show to be arrested. Yesterday, actress Allison Mack, was arrested for sex trafficking. Bujt, we have the new Smallville Funko Pop Figures to keep us occupied as this story develops.

Power Rangers Gooo!!
A new generation of Power Rangers hit the big screen this weekend. But, was the pay off as big as the hype? Yes and No. I think anytime you try to reintroduce an existing character or characters there will always be some risks. Roberto Orci (producer) had to find a way to pay respect to the vastly popular Saban property that fans adored and at the same time breathe new life into it. For newcomers, it was fast paced and exciting. The story was just enough story to make you care about what was going on. For the old school diehard fans there were plenty of nods to the original series (along with cameos) to take them back to the original Japanese style monster fight scenes that were both comical and exciting. The same thing that made it worth watching week after week season after season.
The story is really about Billy Cranston (The Blue Ranger) who is now apparently a bit autistic (although he didn't say it but he did say he was on the spectrum) and a lot more nerdy these days. We, also, learn he is from a single parent home (now) after his father's passing. Billy is the catalyst for every major event in this new production. He initiates the trip to the mountain, the explosion that causes the power coins to be found and he even dies (temporarily) that rallies the team to find the strength to morph into the superheroes they were destined to be.
The Red Ranger we find out, originally, was Zordon. In the opening scene we see Bryan Cranston as a fallen Red Ranger that is the only survivor of an apparent attack from Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) and sacrifices himself in order to kill Rita. Fast Forward to present time and we see future Red Ranger (Dacre Montgomery) as a cow stealing car wrecking juvenile delinquent. Pink Ranger (Naomi Scott) is the stereotypical mean girl turned good as she enters detention for a later revealed "picture" incident and wows the juvenile delinquents with a bathroom haircut makeover (corny). The story begins to take shape as Rita Repulsa re-emerges and visits yellow ranger trying to convince her to join the "dark" side. Of course, the yellow ranger is a team player and informs the rangers and Zordon of her plan. At this point, the Rangers are not able to morph in to the "Power" Rangers but still possess their enhanced strength and agility. Billy solves the problem for him self and becomes the conscience of the team and is able to morph into the Blue Ranger. Not able to sustain the transformation, Billy and the team lose hope as they know a huge fight is brewing. Zordon doesn't think that these kids are worthy of the mantel Power Ranger and seeks Alpha's help in getting him out of the wall so he can once battle as the Red Ranger. While the team loses some of the confidence, Rita attacks and kills Billy. GASP!! The team rallies together back at the space ship where they find the inner strength to embrace their shared destiny. Zordon sacrifices his chance to be the Red Ranger again which allows Billy to come back to life and the Power Rangers are now able to Morph. The fight scene was brief against the "new" puddy men and they eventually get to the boss fight (Rita) as she goes to the Kripy Kreme to find another gem that will make her unstoppable. She raises and then merges with Goldar and the Rangers Zords merge to become the MegaZord and defeat Goldar and Rita. Whew!!
It's a fun movie to see but it did get a little boring in the middle. And as always the good stuff is left for the last 10 to 15 mins of the movie.

Interviewing The UndieGuy
I came across an interesting guy doing underwear reviews online. And not just any underwear but sexy underwear and some regular ones too. But, underwear all the same. He is the self titled UndieGuy and he is sweet as he is handsome. We had the pleasure to chat with him and it was a fun time. Check out the podcast below. And also check him out on Vimeo and YouTube.

Batman V Superman Spoiler Free Review
Well, I just saw Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and I was so adamant about checking it out tonight. But, once the movie started, I realized this could have waited until next week or the week after. I am not going to spoil it until Sunday during my podcast review. But, I will say this.... On a scale out from 1 to 10 this movie gets a 4.5... I did appreciate Gadot's efforts as Wonder Woman. But, there wasn't enough of her to make you even care if she was in the movie or not. The obligatory Wayne Murders' scene was corny. Lex Luthor was laughable, but not in a good way. I did enjoy Affleck’s portrayal of Batman. But, that’s about it. And Superman, although Cavil is perfectly cast, he just isn’t that interesting. I believe Lois (Amy Archer) carried the entire story. And the rest of the supporting cast were forgettable, even Lawrence Fishburne. The other future team member cameos were dumb and uninspired. And the choice for The Flash seeing his “debut” made him look more like a character from the Vampire Diaries. Which could and should have been Grant Gustin. Did I say the first 1 hour and 45 mins was a snooze fest and I think I actually fell asleep? This was dumb and far fetched even for a comic book movie. They really need to take a page out of Marvel’s play book because it doesn’t look like they know what the hell they are doing with their own properties. Anyway, look for my complete spoilery review on this Sunday’s podcast.

Come On Patti!!
By now, all of you have heard about the now out-of-stock Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pie. Many people have rushed to Walmarts across the country to taste what YouTuber James Wright was singing about when he made his video review of the Lady Marmalade singer's Sweet Potato Pie. I was lucky enough to get 2 of them. Although, I didn't by them myself. I was able to channel my inner Patti and have several slices of the now famous holiday pie. My reaction was a little less enthusiastic than most. But, I will say it is a very good store bought pie. If you do not like spices or nutmeg this is not the pie for you. But, it is good and would serve well for those who are not as blessed as Ms Patti is in the kitchen. In my latest podcast all chat about the pies and some other fun topics on this week's 5by5 podcast.
Here is the original video that went viral and caused Walmart to sell at least 1 million of Patti's pies last week.

Tri It Again
Although, you probably will not believe me. But, I really do not like being shady. Unless, someone or thing gives me a good reason. I honestly went in to attending this last Comic Convention with an open mind. For god's sake, I even purchased a VIP ticket because I forgot to apply for a press pass. So, I was fully vested in "wanting" to have a fun experience. Boy was I let down. Listen in for my latest review of a Comic Book Convention that didn't have any comic books.. sigh...

Bring On The Wizard
I am coming up on my next big Nerd Escape this weekend with Wizard World Comic Con in Nashville, TN. This will be my first Wizard World Con and I am excited to see what they have in store. WW has cons all over the country to the delight of fanboys and girls everywhere.
I plan on taking in the city of Nashville while I am in town for the 3 days of the convention.
The only problem is the amount of recent cancellations that have come from Nashville.
Also, our Nerd Moon is finally in phase and the new geek shows start on Monday with ABC'S Gotham. On the latest edition of Fanboy Weekly I talk about this year's contenders for best fanboy show. I also talk about the ones I don't think will make the cut

LOOKING, familiar

Well after all of the hype HBO's new gay series "Looking" made it's debut on Sunday night. I was kind of hyped because we haven't had a gay themed drama from a major network in sometime. I miss the days of Noah's Arc and Queer As Folk. But, Looking is seeking to fill the void for us gay men in waiting. Well, as I say in my review the stereotypes in this premiere episode were a little unsettling In the first 5 mins we get park cruising and a hand job. Later on we get pretentious queens, a three way and chicken chasers. I was like seriously they are really going to come out like this? Although, QAF did have some very stereotypical imagery throughout the series. But, it was a different time for gay men and women. We are so much more visible now. We expect respect from a society who will and has used everything to deny us our basic rights. I don't see how using the same stereotypical visuals to describe our community in THE FIRST episode helps us. Or do we just chalk it up to storytelling and let it go. I am going to give this one a few more views before canceling my HBO subscription. LOL.. Not really True Blood has one more season.. lol.More Magic than Mike?
yes ma'am!
And finally, I saw a Huffington Post article about Full Frontal scenes from male actors in the movies. What I didn't know is just how many movies there were that showed us what we all have obviously been missing. But, since I love you guys. I thought I would share the very NSFW video! And not one of them is from any actor in Magic Mike. What up with that? Enjoy!!

All Hail The Queens
Don't you just love a play on words. I do. But, I am afraid I am not speaking of myself this time or Beyonce. I am talking about the return on Arrow's, Oliver Queen and Coven's Queenie. Both, returned in true Queen fashion as both episodes kept me riveted to my television last night. Arrow returned from it's winter hiatus with new mysterious and action. I just love Stephen Amell's portrayal of The Green Arrow. I think the writing of Arrow is far superior to the last few seasons of Smallville. I was a bit miffed about not seeing The Flash in this episode but I am sure he will make a speedy appearance soon. Speaking of Speedy, the one thing I do not like. Why are they making him a metahuman. Wasn't he just a regular archer that was trained by Green Arrow himself in the comics. But, I am sure we will see how that dynamic plays out on the show. Listen Below to hear about the Queens and more
The other Queen is none other than Gabourey Sidibe's witchy character on Coven. When everyone thought she had died by a self inflicted gunshot to the head. She returned in a black limo, to Nan's funeral, with Kathy Bates in a leash no less. Now if that isn't a Queenly entrance I don't know what is. The previews for next week's episode show that all of the girls are in line to be the next supreme. I wonder what witch will be left standing after this supernatural battle royale is over.

The Tomorrow People, Agents and Arrow
What a night of premieres. All except one (3rd episode) Agents Of Shield is still riding the wave of popularity. The new show quirkiness is there, but that doesn't stop them for delivering solid geek filled episodes. The underlying discussion about Agent Coulson's identity is still present. This week the mystery behind him was given to us by one line from Agent May "And You Died".
The show I have been really anticipating this season other than Agents of Shield is Arrow. And tonight's season premiere gave us some season 1 closure, but also opened a few new can of worms. I was left wanting more, but I was very entertained by the Stephen Amell led show. And I finally got my Black Canary
fix. Right after Arrow the second Amell family member charged in with The Tomorrow People. Robbie Amell younger fraternal cousin to Stephen is the lead in the U.S. version of an old British scifi classic.
Check out their interview below it's very cute.

Agent's Of Shield Review
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L,D.
arrived with much ado and it delivered on all of the hype. A very good pilot from Joss Whedon. It had drama, action and suspense.. Oh did I say action. Agent Coulson's return was answered and then turned on it's head by Maria Hill (guest appearance). Click the show below to hear my full review.
I was surprised to see an AppleTV update this week, but it was very welcome. Included were Itunes Radio, Cloud Photos, a couple of new channels and the podcast app got a little better. And now you can buy iTunes music directly from the Music App. Check out the full review, also,on this week's

Beyonce Rules the World
Beyonce Rules The World
Yeah, the album has been out for about a month now and I love it. Just getting around to giving you a review on it. Not what you expected, but definitely worth the listen.

Well if you haven't bought the newest Beyonce album titled 4 yet, go get yourself a copy. Don't let the negative press and hater gossip persuade you not to give this album a chance. Bey has done something that no artist has done in recent years. She did not make a formulaic album. What I mean is, she didn't make songs that we will hear on the radio a thousand times and then forget about next year. This album, although more mid-tempo than previous releases is one of those beginning to the end albums. Yeah, you can pick out your favorites, but I like to listen to it as a whole. If I have any favorites I would say they would be 1+1, Countdown, Party, End of Time and I Care. Many will say that it is missing some of the heavy R&B tracks like 'Upgrade-U and DIVA' or the POP ballads like 'Irreplaceable and If I Were A Boy'. read more
