It's My Birthday!!

Yes, it was my birthday on August 25.  I am a few years over 40 now and I don't really feel the change in age... yet.  It was a pretty stressful day.  Sometimes family and holidays are just like families with holidays if you get my drift. But, it's good to make it another year.  I am at the age where friends and family alike are dying.  So, you just have to embrace each day with a fair amount of hope. So in tonight's episode I talk about Virgos, Celebs Who Share my Birthday and for fun Queen Bey and the VMA's & This year's Emmy's.

Batman and True Blood Catch Up Post

 

I have been talking about the Batman 75th Anniversary on my podcast for some time now.  DC Comics is going all out for The Dark Knight for his birthday.  The festivities will commence on July 23rd at your local comic book stores and Barnes & Noble during their Get Pop-Cultured in store event.  There will be a free comic book giveaway of Detective Comics #27 re-telling of the origin of Batman.  Also, preceding Batman 75 DC has released 13 on going series with variant covers by various artist.  Superman Wonder Woman 10 and Justice League 33 (not in stores yet) show below.

True Blood returned 4 weeks ago and I am still on the fence.  Now, I will finish the series since I am 6 years invested in it.  But, with the surprising deaths of Tara and Alcide before we even get to the middle of the season has left a sad taste in my mouth.  I mean there deaths were treated so insignificantly It makes you think they were B-list characters.  I for one think that Hep V Vampire storyline was used too much already and I wish it was already over.  But, you can check out the podcast below and hear my full review on True Blood so far! 

Fanboy Friday Makeover

Hey Guys!! Sorry Fanboy Friday has been gone. But, I have been a busy fan boy lately.  

I am so behind on my favorite shows and I am switching to a new format.  We now have a home on Spreaker.  I will still update the show on Blog Talk Radio, but no longer will be broadcasting live from there. You will also still be able to catch it on iTunes and Stitcher Radio and eventually iHeart Radio.  

This episode we are still working out some kinks.  But here the latest on True Blood.  Netflix has introduced a new "Mer-Man" original series and Xmen Days of Future Past has given us a whole lot of mutants to geek about with some newly released pictures. 

Fanboy Friday: True Blood 'nuff said

This week on Fanboy Friday we talk about the Season Premiere of  True Blood.  I was not that enthused.  But, don't get me wrong I enjoyed it.  The one person I am over in this series is Jason Stackhouse.  It looks like they have changed Tara.  We didn't see much from Sam Merlotte or Lafayette, but I am sure both of their stories will grow.  I hope they don't ruin the Bill Compton character with this whole Billith thing.  It could get a little old.  I wonder if this will be the last year for this show. I know it's going strong, but how long can it really go.  I need to read the books.  

Also, Teen Wolf is back and not only does Scott and Derek have to fight off Boyd the moon starved wolf.  There is a new player in town killing virgins. And is Stiles the next victim. Allison is hunting on here own.  And Lydia is going crazy again. Peter is the usual asshole.

Fanboy Friday: Teen Wolf, Comic Reviews, X-Men & More

It's Fanboy Friday and we do not have a lot but we do have big little stuff.  

First all how do you like the new Fanboy Friday banner? I think it's cool because I made it. LOL and it looks just like me too.

On this week's show we talk about the upcoming Xmen Days of Future Past with Bryan Singer back at the helm.  From what I have read,  it seems like it will be a close rendition to what the original comic book story told. The question many are asking is how is Patrick Stewart going to reprise his role as Prof X.  If you remember our dear Professor was killed in Xmen The Last Stand by the horrible Jean Grey/ Phoenix character that was brain stormed by Brett Ratner.  I hated The Last Stand. Phoenix no fire, nuff said.

Also, Hugh Jackman isn't sure about his future with the Wolverine franchise.  EW.com reports that he wasn't sure after the first solo Wolvie movie was he going to be involved anymore. But, as we type he is taping his scenes in Days Of Future Past.  It is also rumored that he may make an appearance in The Avengers 2 movie.  What would it be like if Hugh Jackman was recasted in the future Xmen/Wolverine movies.  Only time will tell I guess.

Our Comic Book Reviews for this week are from Avatar and Valiant.  Avatar's Absolution was a blood bath.  And Valiant's Harbinger Wars seems promising.  Listen in to my review. 

I have incorporated a new feature in Fanboy Friday.  The Fanboy Friday Throwback is something that I thought would be fun and interesting.  In the theme of the show we will be revisiting one of my fave Comic Books, Television Shows or Video Games that have either been forgotten or gone away.
